COVID-19 Pandemic - Let's Talk REFLECTIONS
This is a 10-week project that consists of audio, written and live recorded videos with the aim of sharing reflections and experiences of how it was like down for the past few months.
The Abbas Foundation Trust is a volunteer-led, non-profit organisation established on 29th August 2018.
The name Abbas is the family name and was setup
by their children to do a number of projects as sadaqa jariya (continuous charity)
Continuous charity is referred to the ability of doing ongoing charity that will benefit in this life and even after when passed away.
Allah (The Most High) states the following:
“Indeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have accounted for in a clear register.”
(Qur’an, Surah Yasin 36:12)
Due to their love for their parents,
these charitable activities are in conjunction with community organisations and registered charities to help all humanity regardless of faith and race through aid of water, food and medicine as well as masjid and school constructions.
They also aim to put emphasis on the importance of parents for they are the door for Paradise through seminars and conferences.
"Your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor."
(Quran, Surah Al-Isra, 17:23)
Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said
“Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter. Whoever alleviates [the situation of] one in dire straits who cannot repay his debt, Allah will alleviate his lot in both this world and in the Hereafter. Whoever conceals [the faults of] a Muslim, Allah will conceal [his faults] in this life and the Hereafter."
On the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah have mercy upon him) said, The Prophet (peace be upon him said) said, “Indeed, the rewards of his actions and good deeds that will reach a believer after his death are: knowledge which he taught and spread; a righteous child whom he leaves behind; a copy of the Qur’an that he leaves as a legacy; or a masjid that he built; or a house that he built for wayfarers; a canal that he dug; or charity that he gave from his wealth in his good health and life. These deeds will reach him after his death”’. (Ibn Majah)
