Assalam Alaikum (Peace be with you) Bismillah Al-Rahman Al-Raheem (In the name of Allah, Most Gracious Most Merciful) Let us learn how our mothers utilized themselves to provide for us. Mothers are one of the blessings from Allah (The Most High) and we cannot compare this naimah (blessing) with anything else in our lives. No matter how much or how many valuables you behold in your life right now. Your mother will always be your first love. When we were young, no matter how much we say or express our love for our mothers, we will not know the true beauty of motherhood until we become a mother ourselves. The sacrifices. The ups and downs that come along the journey. The struggle our mothers did in taking care of us. SubhanAllah (Glory be to Allah). For those who do not have mothers from the time they remembered or lost their mothers or for those who have been apart from their mothers for some reasons, do not lose your hopes because one day you will see your mother and hug her again in sha Allah (if Allah wills). For those whose mothers are still alive, cherish the moments spent with her. Look at her with love, spend quality time with her by doing khidmah (help) for her. Cook for her, help her with her chores, do not ask her, just do it. You never know whose turn is next to meet Allah (The Most High). Take the duas (supplications) from your mother. Do not bother her by making her ask you every single time to make a cup of tea at the end of the day when she needs tea at that time. For the ladies who are married, do not worry. You still can do khidmah (work) for your mother by making duas for her ALL the time. Your duas will become a great reward for yourself as well! In sha Allah (if Allah wills). When I lost my mother, I realized that I had a lot to say to her, that I had a lot to talk to her but I cannot anymore. I had always got busy with my kids, or something always happened when we were trying to talk and now I miss her so much that words cannot describe. Always try to take time out to sit down and think about the struggles of your mother and appreciate her. Otherwise, it will be too late. And the best thing you can do for your parents is to make dua (supplications) for them. And do remember them in every single dua. We cannot pay them back the way they did for us. That is why Allah (The Most High) counts and sees how much we try and make an effort. Allah (The Most High) will see how much you adore your mother and will reward you accordingly in sha Allah (if Allah wills). May Allah ﷻ forgive our mistakes and carelessness if any applicable towards the duties of being a child. Ameen. And may Allah ﷻ forgive our parents. Ameen. “My Lord! bestow on them thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood.” [Verse 17:24]
